The Elena Prousskaia Clinic offers a surgical solution to stubborn fat deposits with lipo in Bristol.
Many people find that they cannot get rid of fat from specific parts of their bodies even if they eat well and exercise regularly. Women often accumulate weight around the hip and thigh area, which is impossible to shift.
Liposuction, or lipo, in Bristol can be used to reduce these pockets of fat and provide a more streamlined body silhouette.
Elena Prousskaia offers world-class cosmetic surgery in Bristol from her clinic in the ultra-modern Bristol Spire Hospital.
Elena Prousskaia has been a world-class cosmetic and plastic surgeon for over 20 years. She has worked as an award-winning consultant plastic surgeon in the NHS and has travelled extensively to discover the best surgical techniques for her patients. She now has several highly successful private clinics across the UK.
Elena has a particular interest in working with women requiring reconstructive surgery after breast cancer. She is renowned for her sensitive approach to patients and the artistry of her work. Elena uses these same qualities with her liposuction patients.
Elena does not use liposuction as a substitute for weight loss as she believes that high volume liposuction is dangerous. Her approach is to use lipo judiciously to recontour her patients’ bodies by reducing limited areas of fat. Clients in her Bristol clinic are particularly delighted with the dramatic improvements she makes to the size and shape of the area around the hip and thigh area.
During liposuction surgery, Ms Prousskaia makes several 5mm incisions in the area to be treated and inserts special cannulas. The fat is then removed through these cannulas. The procedure is highly effective for removing fat on the inner and outer thighs, the stomach, abdomen, hips, knees, and under the chin.
Liposuction is usually carried out under general anaesthetic and requires an overnight stay in hospital. If the problem area is relatively small, it may be possible to do the procedure with a local anaesthetic allowing you to return home the same day.
Patients have regular follow-up appointments for the first 12 months to check progress. There will be some soreness after the surgery, and you will need to wear a special support garment for a couple of months to ensure the best result. Once you are fully recovered, your confidence will soar, and you will be able to wear the form-fitting clothes that you avoided before.
Liposuction is an excellent solution for clients with stubborn fat deposits, but like all surgical interventions, it carries the risk of bleeding and bruising. When you choose a surgeon of Elena Prousskaia’s expertise and experience, these risks are minimised. All Elenas’s patients have an initial consultation to discuss the benefits and risks of the procedure. Elena ensures that patients have realistic expectations of the surgery and that she can help them to achieve their objectives before beginning treatment.
The initial consultation costs from £200, and the total cost of the surgery starts at £4950. This price should be taken as a guide only as the final price will be confirmed at your initial consultation and will depend on the number and size of the areas to be treated.

It’s important to point out that liposuction is not an alternative to losing weight because only a limited amount of fat can be removed in one operation. Elena’s policy is not to perform massive volume liposuction, as it can be dangerous to your health. Used sparingly and sensitively, however, it can have great results on certain areas, such as the outer thighs where some women have a genetic predisposition to gaining fat.
Elena will talk you through all the necessary pre-surgery investigations, as well as the after-care required. She will also fully explain the risks associated with the operation. We will only go ahead with the procedure once you are completely ready and happy with the choice we have made together. The good news is that the scars after liposuction are usually almost invisible and your clothes will fit better. Following your treatment, however, you will be a bit sore for a few weeks and will require an elasticated support garment during this period. Before you leave the Clinic, our team will make sure you’re completely informed about how best to care for yourself during the recovery period. Aftercare is a huge priority for us and we’re always available for any questions during the weeks and months after your procedure.

Elena will discuss your desired outcome and the specific treatment in detail during your initial consultation. If necessary, It is possible to have more than one session. Normally these will be at least 6 months apart.
As with any major surgery, liposuction carries risks, such as bleeding and a reaction to anaesthesia. Your decision to have this operation should be based on your careful evaluation of all the possible risks and the potential benefits. Most patients undergoing this surgery do not experience complications. However, you should discuss all possible risks and your tolerance of complications with your consultant plastic surgeon, Miss Prousskaia, in order to make sure that you fully understand the implications and consequences of having fat transfer. Possible complications specific to liposuction include: Contour irregularities, your skin may appear bumpy, wavy or withered due to uneven fat removal, poor skin elasticity and unusual healing. Elena will provide you with further information with the risks and provide you with a detailed consent form during your consultations. This will help you to minimise the risks.
Elena prides herself on taking the time to truly understand a patient’s aims and discussing what result will work best given the patient’s individual characteristics. In patients with skin irregularities and loose skin, skin excess may not adapt by itself after liposuction and may require additional skin tightening techniques. Skin irregularities may not always improve with liposuction.
The total cost of the surgery will be confirmed after the first consultation.
The cost includes the hospital, surgeon and anaesthetic fees. It also covers all post-operative visits. The initial consultation fee will be invoiced separately. The prices apply only at the time of publication and are subject to changes without notification.
