If a mammaplasty is booked in, it would be held at London’s wonderful Welbeck Hospital.
Typically, Elena would remove breast and fatty tissue as required and also re-shape and position the breasts to the optimal position and definition. It might be that the procedure also addresses any imbalance between the breasts.
The nipples will be repositioned, with an overall outcome of smaller, more youthful appearing breasts, breasts that are more in tune with your body shape and size.
The mammaplasty is carried out under general anaesthetic and usually takes between 90 minutes and three hours. Post surgery, a short period of recuperation is required including a couple of weeks of reduced activity.

For those with breasts that are too large, the benefits are profound.
There is, of course, the physical change, the change to appearance. The breasts will be firmer, better proportioned, more desirable even.
Reduced breasts can also be far more comfortable. This is true in sport and exercise, but also in preventing back ache – over-sized breasts can be a constant source of strain, leading to ongoing pain.
However, the benefits can also extend far beyond this to mental health too, confidence and self-esteem. Addressing this aspect of appearance can make a woman feel happier in herself; as a leading female surgeon Elena Prousskaia realises just how important this aspect of the surgery is.
The change to attitude, confidence and happiness is one of the wonderful aspects of cosmetic surgery, seeing someone struggling with an aspect of appearance transformed into the best version of themselves.

This commonly performed operation involves reducing the amount of breast and fatty tissue, as well reshaping and positioning the breasts to an optimum shape. Some people choose the procedure to correct an imbalance or asymmetry between the breasts.
Carried out under general anaesthetic, the procedure requires a hospital stay of one night, generally taking around 3 hours complete. During the procedure itself, the breasts are reshaped, and the nipples are repositioned to form smaller and younger looking breasts. The scars will be placed around the nipple-areola complex, vertically and sometimes in the lower breast (inframammary) folds. The placement of scars will depend on your preference and the recommendation of your surgeon, Elena Prousskaia.
A short period of recuperation is required after undertaking a breast reduction procedure, generally of between one and two weeks of reduced activity. The Elena Prousskaia Clinic prides itself on the quality of both its pre and post operative care so we’ll make sure you’re completely informed, relaxed and comfortable at all stages of the process. Once you’ve gone home we’re always on call for advice as things begin to heal.

While complications with breast surgery are infrequent, no surgical procedure is without risks. Among the possible complications are bleeding, infection, scarring and an adverse reaction to anaesthesia. Elena will provide you with further information with the risks and provide you with a detailed consent form during your consultations. This will help you to minimise the risks.
Generally speaking, this surgery takes around 2.5-3 hours, although this varies depending on the nature of the procedure.
After surgery it is normal to experience some discomfort, the level of which varies widely amongst patients. There is rarely prolonged pain unless there is a complication and in all cases you will be prescribed pain medication.
You will wear your support bra for up to 4-6 weeks after surgery – then you can look at purchasing your own ‘normal’ bras for everyday wear once fully healed.
Elena prides herself on taking the time to truly understand a patient’s aims and discussing what result will work best given the patient’s body shape and size. Although good results are expected, the body is not symmetric and almost everyone has some degree of unevenness, which may not be recognized in advance. The more realistic your expectations as to results, the better your results will be in your eye. You will have at least two consultations with Elena where she ensures that she meets your expectations and she will always try to achieve your desired results.
The total cost of the surgery will be confirmed after the first consultation.
The cost includes the hospital, surgeon and anaesthetic fees. It also covers all post-operative visits. The initial consultation fee will be invoiced separately. The prices apply only at the time of publication and are subject to changes without notification.
