Breast Uplift Surgery is available in London through Elena Prousskaia, a highly experienced cosmetic surgeon with a specialism in breast procedures.
Also known just as breast lift, or by the technical term Mastopexy, the operation is desirable for many women as they seek to reverse the impact of breasts sagging.
The causes for the breasts dropping can be varied. For some, it is genetic and might have been apparent since puberty, whilst age will also often be a factor. Pregnancy and breastfeeding can be other contributory factors.
The impact of breasts dropping can be profound, it creates a physical change that can impact any woman’s confidence and self esteem.
The breast uplift has a huge impact, creating the shape and projection of the breasts that is desired, and this in turn leading to improved confidence and a positive frame of mind that can influence all areas of life, such as work and relationships.
A more youthful appearance will be delivered via the uplift; it is also possible to have an augmentation at the same time, thus further enhancing the breasts to lift, and also create more shapely, firmer breasts. Implants can be used, so too fat transfers.
Ultimately, perhaps it matters little to a prospective patient what causes the drooping, what matters more is that a skilled surgeon can remedy the issue.

A detailed consultation would always be held, this is your opportunity to discuss the results you seek and for Elena Prousskaia to listen, and then recommend a plan of best action. You would be free to consider her suggestion at your leisure and without obligation.
With Elena, you are in the safest of hands; a world-renowned cosmetic surgeon, she has held the prestigious Fellowship in Microsurgical Breast Reconstruction at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospital in London.
Typically, the surgery takes between one or two hours and can be performed under general or local anaesthetic – this depending on the individual circumstances. An overnight stay in hospital will be required in some cases.
It might be that the breast uplift procedure is just one of a number of possible methods to deliver the desired result – Elena can offer advice as to the best method for achieving your aims from surgery.
The best candidates are women who have breasts that have lost volume and are now sagging.
Causes for the sagging can be:
The sagging can also be related to a condition such as tuberous breast, where breasts have an underdeveloped appearance, with an overly large gap in between them.
Elena’s expertise is such that she would correctly diagnose the condition and then advise accordingly.
The surgery is carried out under general anaesthetic.
Elena would make incisions and then remove excess skin, with the breast tissue reshaped and nipple repositioned.
There are many surgeons who can perform this procedure, but results will vary by experience and expertise. Elena’s expertise is unmatched, as shown by her Fellowships specifically in the field of breast reconstruction.
Results settle down over time, with final results visible after around six months. Scars fade and any marks from incisions will be minimal, Elena having positioned incisions so as to cause the least visible scarring.
Breast lift is a major procedure and so there is a period of recovery required.
Full details specific to each patient would be given at consultation, but in general terms it is usually necessary to take it easy for around six weeks, this including time off work and refraining even from light activities such as dog walking.
Recovery would then continue and it may be up to a year before you can resume all strenuous activities.
Ms Prousskaia holds regular follow-up appointments to ensure you are recovering as expected and she is always available to answer any queries you may have, nothing matters more than your ongoing health.
Length of surgery: Typically 2.5 to 3 hours
Recovery: See above. Up to a year until some strenuous activities can be resumed, around six weeks of taking it very easy post surgery
Alternative treatments: As an expert in breast surgery, Elena can advise as to any alternate options. She would also state when a breast uplift would not be in a patient’s best interests
Surgical risks: No surgery is without risk, though they are extremely infrequent with breast uplift. It is also worth factoring in both Elena’s expertise and also the world class reputation of London’s Welbeck Hospital.
The most common (but still rare) side effects include scarring, infection, implant displacement and breast asymmetry.
Cost of breast uplift: As the nature of surgery would vary by patient, it is of course impossible to provide an accurate quote in a singular web page. However, this treatment typically costs from £6,100.

Elena’s ethos is summed up in this quote
“The one thing that matters most to me when I am with a patient is empathy.
“It is only when you are able to identify and understand your patients problems that you can begin to help resolve them satisfactorily. A good surgical outcome is not the only thing that matters. Everything that you do and say to a patient has to come from your heart.

For many women, breast uplift surgery can be a positive way to restore a sense of body confidence, boosting self-esteem, and allowing the wearing of tops without a bra, despite perhaps having had children. With rejuvenated breasts, women may feel more attractive.
As a specialist in breast surgery, Elena can advise you during your consultation of the full range of options available. For some women, breast enlargement or reduction may be a more beneficial procedure, but there are several possibilities.
While complications with surgery are infrequent, no surgical procedure is without risks. Among the possible complications are scars, infection, haematoma, implant displacement, breast asymmetry and implant rupture. Elena will provide you with further information with the risks and provide you with a detailed consent form during your consultations. This will help you to minimise the risks.
Generally speaking this surgery takes around 2.5-3 hours, although this varies depending on the nature of the procedure.
You should avoid all sport activities, housework such as hovering, driving, dog walking for at least 4-6 weeks following surgery and any weight lifting or strenuous activities for up to 8-12 months following the surgery. The visibility of your scars will depend on the technique used and on the biological response of your body to surgery and healing. Generally the scars after this type of surgery are almost invisible by the end of the year. Patients can benefit from taking four weeks off work, and after you have seen Ms Prousskaia for your four weeks follow up you can discuss beginning a gym routine focused on lower body strength.

Elena will talk you through all the necessary pre-surgery investigations, as well as the after-care required. She will also fully explain the risks associated with the operation. We will only go ahead with the procedure once you are completely ready and happy with the choice we have made together.
After surgery it is normal to experience some discomfort, the level of which varies widely amongst patients. Your breasts will be swollen and bruised for about two weeks. You’ll likely feel pain and soreness around the incisions, which will be red or pink for a few months. Numbness in your nipples, areolae and breast skin might last for about six weeks. There is rarely prolonged pain unless there is a complication and in all cases you will be prescribed pain medication.
The shape of implants can be round or anatomical (teardrop). Both can provide an excellent result. The outer shell and the filling may vary depending on the manufacturer. Miss Prousskaia has never used PIP implants in her practice and she will offer you high quality implants from the best manufacturers. You will discuss with Miss Prousskaia which specific shape and size of implant would give you the optimal result. You should know that in the European Union (EU) 95% of implants used for breast augmentation are made of silicone gel and only 5% contains other type of fillings such as saline. Mentor Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants are devices with shells constructed from silicone elastomer. The shell is filled with MemoryGel®, Mentor’s proprietary formulation of silicone gel.

As an NHS Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Southmead Hospital she dedicated several years to complex microsurgical reconstruction and general plastic surgery. During this time at North Bristol Trust she particularly enjoyed rebuilding patients who suffered from breast cancer giving them their body and confidence back. At present Ms Prousskaia runs her own successful private practice performing full range of plastic and aesthetic surgery for face, body and breast. Elena prides herself on taking the time to truly understand a patient’s aims and discussing what result will work best given the patient’s body shape and size. Although good results are expected, the body is not symmetric and almost everyone has some degree of unevenness, which may not be recognized in advance. The more realistic your expectations as to results, the better your results will be in your eye. You will have at least two consultations with Elena where she ensures that she meets your expectations and she will always try to achieve your desired results.
The total cost of the surgery will be confirmed after the first consultation.
The cost includes the hospital, surgeon and anaesthetic fees. It also covers all post-operative visits. The initial consultation fee will be invoiced separately. The prices apply only at the time of publication and are subject to changes without notification.
