Typically, the skin of the face is detached from the underlying structures and gently moved up and backward as excess skin is removed. At this point, Elena can remodel the underlying tissues to improve the contours of the face. She may also perform a fat transfer to restore youthful fullness.
If required, Elena will tighten the muscle underlying the skin of the neck to reduce the appearance of neckbands. Elena can remove excess fat under the chin with liposuction during the facelift.
You will experience some numbness and bruising after your facelift, as with all surgical procedures. This may last up to 14 days.
Once you have fully recovered, your face will be smoother and more youthful-looking. Elena always ensures that the small scars resulting from surgery are well hidden.

From M5 Junction 17
Follow the A4018 for Bristol West and Bristol Zoo for approximately four miles. With the Downs and water tower on the right, you will come to a roundabout on this road. Take the left-hand turn into Redland Hill and immediately turn left into Spire Bristol Hospital.
From M4 Junction 19
Follow the M32 leading into Bristol. Take the M32 into the city centre and then follow the signs for Clifton and the A4018. At the top of Whiteladies Road, bear right for Redland to find the hospital.
Bristol Spire Hospital has 100 free car parking spaces.
Take the train to either Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads stations. Bristol Parkway station is approximately four miles from Spire Bristol Hospital (20-30 minutes by taxi) on the outskirts of Bristol. Temple Meads station is close to the city centre and only 10-15 minutes from Spire Bristol Hospital by taxi.

Elena lifts the skin off the deeper facial structures, gently pulls the skin in an upward and posterior direction, removes the excess skin and perform tightening or remodelling of the deeper tissues of the face (SMAS lift). Fat transfer is often performed to improve areas of missing volume which is crucial for juvenile looking face. A small incision, or cut, may be made under the chin to tighten the skin and deeper tissue of the neck. The underlying muscle called platysma may be tightened to remove unfavourable looking neck bands (platismoplasty procedure). Chin liposuction is often performed to remove fat excess under the chin.
It is common to experience swelling, bruising, and some areas of numbness after your procedure. Most of the bruising after a facelift takes 10-14 days to resolve. Swelling will steadily improve over about two weeks, and some areas will recover much quicker than others. Certain areas may hold onto swelling longer.
A mini facelift reduces minor sagging on the lower face and neck. It is a minimal skin tightening procedure which offers shorter-lived results than a traditional facelift.
