Liposuction is a surgical procedure to remove fat cells. This procedure is very effective for removing fat from the inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hips, knee, and the area beneath the chin. The surgeon will remove the fat using fine cannulas inserted through 5mm incisions in the skin of the problem area.
A skilled surgeon like Elena can make significant improvements to the shape of your body with liposuction. Clients who have had their hip and thigh areas treated can enjoy wearing tight jeans and other figure-hugging clothes that they would previously avoid.
Elena Prousskaia has worked as a plastic surgeon for more than two decades. She had a successful career as a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in the NHS for many years. Elena is well-known for prioritising the safety and happiness of her patients and her surgical expertise. The demand for her services has led her to establish several private clinics across the UK, including her London clinic.
Elena does not perform large volume fat removal during liposuction procedures as this can be bad for the patients’ health. She takes a more creative approach: using liposuction sparingly to recontour specific areas where stubborn fat cannot be removed by healthy lifestyle choices. For example, Elena uses liposuction to make a dramatic difference to the hip and thigh area in women who have an inherited predisposition to store excess fat in these areas.
Liposuction is a significant surgical intervention, and you will need to rest afterwards so that your body can recover. While small areas can be treated under local anaesthetic, a general anaesthetic is often used, which means you may need to stay in hospital overnight.
You will have recovered from surgery after between two and six weeks, and the final result of your liposuction will be apparent after six months. Aftercare is essential for the best results, and Elena will talk through all the precautions and care you need to take post-surgery with you. The clinic will closely monitor your progress during follow-up consultations during the first year after surgery.
Liposuction carries the same risks as all surgical procedures, such as bleeding, infection, and a bad reaction to anaesthesia. Of course, the risk of these problems is minimised by choosing an excellent surgeon, but Elena will discuss all the potential issues before you decide to go ahead.
Initial consultations cost between £200 and £250 and are an essential part of the process, allowing you and your surgeon to decide how you can benefit from liposuction. The surgery itself and the post-operative follow-up will cost from £4950.
The clinic is based in the central London district of Marylebone. This stylish area is close to prestigious Mayfair and near Regent’s Park. It is not far from the world-famous hub of medical excellence, Harley Street. The area is well served by hotels of different sizes for patients who need to travel to visit Miss Prousskaia.

It’s important to point out that liposuction is not an alternative to losing weight because only a limited amount of fat can be removed in one operation. Elena’s policy is not to perform massive volume liposuction, as it can be dangerous to your health. Used sparingly and sensitively, however, it can have great results on certain areas, such as the outer thighs where some women have a genetic predisposition to gaining fat.
Elena will talk you through all the necessary pre-surgery investigations, as well as the after-care required. She will also fully explain the risks associated with the operation. We will only go ahead with the procedure once you are completely ready and happy with the choice we have made together. The good news is that the scars after liposuction are usually almost invisible and your clothes will fit better. Following your treatment, however, you will be a bit sore for a few weeks and will require an elasticated support garment during this period. Before you leave the Clinic, our team will make sure you’re completely informed about how best to care for yourself during the recovery period. Aftercare is a huge priority for us and we’re always available for any questions during the weeks and months after your procedure.

Elena will discuss your desired outcome and the specific treatment in detail during your initial consultation. If necessary, It is possible to have more than one session. Normally these will be at least 6 months apart.
As with any major surgery, liposuction carries risks, such as bleeding and a reaction to anaesthesia. Your decision to have this operation should be based on your careful evaluation of all the possible risks and the potential benefits. Most patients undergoing this surgery do not experience complications. However, you should discuss all possible risks and your tolerance of complications with your consultant plastic surgeon, Miss Prousskaia, in order to make sure that you fully understand the implications and consequences of having fat transfer. Possible complications specific to liposuction include: Contour irregularities, your skin may appear bumpy, wavy or withered due to uneven fat removal, poor skin elasticity and unusual healing. Elena will provide you with further information with the risks and provide you with a detailed consent form during your consultations. This will help you to minimise the risks.
Elena prides herself on taking the time to truly understand a patient’s aims and discussing what result will work best given the patient’s individual characteristics. In patients with skin irregularities and loose skin, skin excess may not adapt by itself after liposuction and may require additional skin tightening techniques. Skin irregularities may not always improve with liposuction.
The total cost of the surgery will be confirmed after the first consultation.
The cost includes the hospital, surgeon and anaesthetic fees. It also covers all post-operative visits. The initial consultation fee will be invoiced separately. The prices apply only at the time of publication and are subject to changes without notification.
