There is no better place to come for your mole removal in Bristol than the Elena Prousskaia clinic.
A mole is a small collection of skin cells or melanocytes on the surface of the skin. They usually appear during childhood, and you may have as many as 50 on your body. Most moles are harmless or benign, but it is a good idea to be aware of your moles’ size and general appearance so that you can show any changes to your doctor.
Removing a mole or any benign skin lesion is a relatively simple procedure in the hands of a skilled surgeon. Elena and her team offer first-class mole removal in Bristol to all their clients from their clinic at the super-modern Spire Hospital.

Suspicious moles need to be removed and this can normally be done via the NHS. But some people also choose to remove moles that are benign because they find them unattractive, or they worry that the mole may change in future.
Award-winning plastic surgeon Elena Prousskaia established her Bristol practice after working for several years as an NHS Consultant in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. As well as her Bristol clinic, Elena has several successful clinics across the country, including London, offering a range of aesthetic surgeries.
Elena and her skilled surgical team have a great deal of experience in all types of surgery, including removing moles and other types of benign skin lesions. Even though removing a mole is a relatively simple procedure, it should be done by a skilled surgeon under sterile conditions

Firstly, the area around the mole will be numbed with a local anaesthetic and sterilised with swabs. The surgeon will make an incision and be very careful to ensure that the entire mole is removed without damaging any surrounding structures, for example, nerves. After removal, the mole will be placed in a sterile jar and sent for analysis.
Mole removal should not be painful, and any post-operative pain can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Your wound will require stitches, but you should be able to resume your normal activities the day after surgery. However, if your mole was on a part of the body where the skin is required to be stretched, then your surgeon may advise you to take it easy for a few days to avoid strain on the stitches. Dissolvable stitches will usually disappear after a couple of weeks.
The cost of an initial consultation for a professional surgical opinion starts at £200 and the removal surgery itself at £500. The final price will vary according to the size and location of the mole and can only be confirmed at your initial consultation. The total price will include the surgeon’s time, the anaesthetic, and the follow-up reviews, of which there will be four in the three months after your surgery.

Many of Elena’s tuberous breast patients have felt self-conscious about the issue since puberty, which is when this issue manifests. If you are concerned that your breasts are either not developing normally, or have never reached their shape, we suggest you book a confidential discussion with Elena to discuss whether this surgery might be appropriate for you.
If any of the following characteristics feel true, then it is likely this is the correct surgical procedure. Of course, this can be confirmed following a detailed discussion with Elena:
• Elongated or coned Breasts
• Narrower breast base
• The fold beneath your breast (inframammary crease) is high
• Prominent enlarged areola.
While complications with surgery are infrequent, no surgical procedure is without risks. Among the possible complications are scars, infection, haematoma, implant displacement, breast asymmetry, implant rupture and capsular contracture. Elena will provide you with further information with the risks and provide you with a detailed consent form during your consultations. This will help you to minimise the risks.
The Elena Prousskaia Clinic prides itself on the quality of its aftercare so we’ll make absolutely sure you know what to expect, and how much rest is needed. We’ll give you specific instructions that may include how to care for your breasts following surgery, medications to apply or take orally to aid healing and reduce the risk of infection, and when to follow-up with Elena. Elena will also advise you on a specialised garment bra which will also help with your recovery.
Tuberous breast correction ensures that patient gains missing volume especially in the lower pole of the breasts, which tend to be short of skin and breast tissue. Once the lower pole of the breast becomes rounder and fuller a bra would normally fit well.
The procedure is carried out under general anaesthetic. The length of surgery is between 2-3 hours however this is dependent on the complexity of surgery. The placement of scars will depend on your preference and the recommendation. The missing volume is restored with implants after breast remodelling is completed, normally as part of the same procedure. Areola reduction can be performed through periareolar approach, with a scar around the nipple areola complex. The Implant often can be introduced through the scar using a Keller funnel resulting in minimal scaring. Very rarely in severe grade of tuberosity a two stage surgery may be needed. In these rare cases, tissue expanders would be placed first to stretch the tissue and at the second stage it would be replaced with implants.

Normally, after a one-night stay, you would go home once the drains are removed. You may feel tightness of your breasts after this surgery. This is normal and it will improve gradually. You should avoid all sport activities, housework such as hovering, driving, dog walking for at least 4-6 weeks following surgery and any weight lifting or strenuous activities for up to 8-12 months following the surgery. The visibility of your scars will depend on the technique used and on the biological response of your body to surgery and healing. Generally the scars after this type of surgery are almost invisible by the end of the year. Patients can benefit from taking four weeks off work, and after you have seen Ms Prousskaia for your four weeks follow up you can discuss beginning a gym routine focused on lower body strength.
The shape of implants can be round or anatomical (teardrop). Both can provide an excellent result. The outer shell and the filling may vary depending on the manufacturer. Miss Prousskaia has never used PIP implants in her practice and she will offer you high quality implants from the best manufacturers. You will discuss with Miss Prousskaia which specific shape and size of implant would give you the optimal result. You should know that in the European Union (EU) 95% of implants used for breast augmentation are made of silicone gel and only 5% contains other type of fillings such as saline. Mentor Silicone Gel-Filled Breast Implants are devices with shells constructed from silicone elastomer. The shell is filled with MemoryGel®, Mentor’s proprietary formulation of silicone gel.
Elena prides herself on taking the time to truly understand a patient’s aims and discussing what result will work best given the patient’s body shape and size. Although good results are expected, the body is not symmetric and almost everyone has some degree of unevenness, which may not be recognized in advance. The more realistic your expectations as to results, the better your results will be in your eye. You will have at least two consultations with Elena where she ensures that she meets your expectations and she will always try to achieve your desired results.
The total cost of the surgery will be confirmed after the first consultation.
The cost includes the hospital, surgeon and anaesthetic fees. It also covers all post-operative visits. The initial consultation fee will be invoiced separately. The prices apply only at the time of publication and are subject to changes without notification.
